Best Aventurine Build in Honkai: Star Rail (Light Cones & Relics)

Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail is almost ridiculously easy to build, as he only needs Relics and Light Cones that’ll help with his DEF. This guide will explain the best Aventurine Build in Honkai: Star Rail, and which Light Cones & Relics you should use on him.

Everything Aventurine does scales off his DEF. So, even if you want to build him for his follow-up attack, you’ll want to give him things that’ll raise his DEF rather than any other stat. In that sense, Aventurine is very easy to build, as you will only need to balance his sub-stats rather than his main stats. Of course, the difficulty will then lie in whether or not you can get any good pieces from the in-game gacha known as Relic hunting.

Here are the Best Aventurine Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail

  • Inherently Unjust Destiny
As Aventurine’s signature Light Cone, it stands to reason that this will be one of his best ones. It increases his DEF by a whopping 40% at S1, as well as increases his Crit DMG. It can also increase how much DMG his follow-up attack does. The downside is that this is a 5-star that is only available for a limited time. Also, until HoYoVerse releases another Preservation unit with follow-up attacks in their kit, this Light Cone is only good for Aventurine, limiting its usage.
  • Moment of Victory
Moment of Victory is a great Light Cone if you don’t have Aventurine’s signature. It increases his DEF and Effect Hit Rate, as well as increases aggro towards him. Aventurine actually gains two stacks of Blind Bet, and it’s difficult for enemies to destroy his shield, considering how high his DEF should be. So aggro-ing enemies to him is a pretty good effect. Moment of Victory is also very easy to get, as you can get it from the Starlight Exchange if it’s not appearing in the gacha.
  • Concert For Two
Concert For Two is one of the newer Light Cones when Aventurine came out, so some may not have it. If you do, and you don’t have any of the more premium options, this is a pretty good choice for Aventurine. It increases his DEF, as well as how much damage he deals for every on-field character with a shield. Because Aventurine shields the entire party, he can always get the maximum DMG boost.
  • This Is Me!
While this Light Cone plays more to March 7th’s strengths, Aventurine can also make use of it. It increases his DEF, as well as the DMG of his Ultimate. The downside to this Light Cone is that it’s only available if you purchase the Nameless Glory. So this locks out players who are fully F2P.
  • Destiny’s Threads Forewoven
Destiny’s Threads Forewoven is a Light Cone that increases Aventurine’s Effect RES, as well as how much DMG he can do based on his DEF. It does not give any particular boost to his DEF. Because of that, this Light Cone is only good if you are able to get him to around 4000 with Relics alone. Incidentally, you want to aim for 4000 DEF on Aventurine because that’s the threshold for his Leverage Trace (which increases his Crit Rate based off his DEF).

Here are the Best Aventurine Relics in Honkai: Star Rail

  • 4-pc Knight of Purity Palace
This is the best Relic Set for an Aventurine you use as a pure sustain. If you luck out on your sub stats and main stats though, you can also stack plenty of Crit DMG or Crit Rate on him to increase his follow-up attack DMG, giving you the best of both worlds. As mentioned earlier, literally everything in Aventurine’s kit scales off his DEF so there’s no harm in giving him plenty of it.
  • 4-pc Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
An Aventurine running this Relic Set will need to really use his Ultimate or his teammates to make the most of Pioneer. Pioneer increases how much DMG Aventurine can deal to enemies with debuffs, as well as increasing how much Crit Rate and Crit DMG he can do to them based on how many debuffs they have. This is for an Aventurine who’s more of a sub-DPS than a sustain. Again though, if you are able to scrounge together a more offensive set using Knight, I highly recommend Knight.
  • 2-pc Knight, 2-pc Pioneer
If you’re unable to get enough good pieces for a full 4-piece, a 2-pc Knight to boost Aventurine’s DEF and a 2-pc Pioneer to boost his DMG can work. Because Pioneer is specifically for enemies with debuffs, you’ll have to make sure he can use his Ultimate often, or run him with characters like Silver Wolf or Pela.
  • 2-pc Knight, 2-pc Wastelander
This is very similar to the above except with Wastelander of Banditry Desert. Wastelander increases his Imaginary DMG. So this is, again, a set focused on Aventurine’s capabilities as a sub-DPS.
  • Belobog of the Ancients
Belobog of the Ancients is good if you’re building Aventurine purely as a sustain and you did not get any good Cavern Relics. This Planar Ornament Set increases his DEF. But if you were able to get him lots of good DEF pieces or a Knight set, you should use your Planar Ornament Sets to boost something else.
  • Inert Salsotto
Inert Salsotto is a really good Set for Aventurine if you want to boost his follow-up attack and Ultimate. You’ll need a minimum 50% Crit Rate to get that bonus. However, because of Leverage, you can reach that number even without a lot of raw Crit Rate on him. You’ll just need to make sure you have plenty of DEF.
  • Broken Keel
Broken Keel is a fantastic Set for Aventurine because it improves his Crit DMG, as well as the party’s. You’ll need 30% Effect RES at the minimum. However, like the above Crit Rate requirement for Inert Salsotto, Aventurine can reach this quite easily, even if you don’t give him a lot with Relics. His shield can boost Effect RES.
