The Onryo and Shinbakufu Organization, Explained

The Onryo, or The Shinbakufu as they are later known as, is the main villain group in this title. This is the group that you meet pretty early in the story and make a significant impact. Each of the members of this group wear a unique mask on their fact that covers up their identity and allows them to go about their business in trying to control Japan.

There are 12 members of this group in total, comprised of both men and women. As Naoe and Yasuke, the main goal of this experience is to take down these 12 members. Perhaps the most unique part about this goal is you are able to take out some of the members in any order you like. Though I will say that there are some that are required in certain orders.

Best Shinbakufu Assassination Order in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

When it comes to The Shinbakufu, there is no specific best assassination order in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Well, outside of the difficulty and levels. In general, I recommend you go based on your personal preference. That said, if you don’t know who to go after first, your best bet is to take them out in level order.

In this case, you would take out the 12 in this following order:

  • The Onryo Samurai (This is required as first no matter what)
  • The Wounded
  • Golden Teppo
  • The Fool
  • The Mourner
  • The Naginata
  • Noble
  • The Wise
  • The Ox
  • Fox
  • The Two-Faced
  • The Horseman (Leader)

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available right now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
