Ludger Will Kresnik, the protagonist in Tales of Xillia 2, owes a ton of money – 20,000,000 gald to be specific. You have to repay his debt in Tales of Xillia 2. Nova (pictured right) was a classmate of Ludger’s. Now she handles collecting the millions you owe.

How do you earn Gald? I suppose you can fight your way to financial freedom, but there is an easier way. Tales of Xillia 2 has a quest system and you’re rewarded with gald for completing quests. Repaying your loan expands the area Ludger is allowed to explore, which expands the field and the quests you can take on. While you can ignore the debt, if you take too long debt collectors will chase Ludger down.
Tales of Xillia 2 comes out on November 1 for PlayStation 3 in Japan.
