Blast Works to include rRootage and other games from Kenta Cho

I played around with an extremely early build of Blast Works yesterday and I quickly realized the build was identical to the PC version of Tumiki Fighters. The control scheme doesn’t use motion control, the analog stick on the nunchuk controls the ship and you press a button on the remote to fire. There is also another control scheme where you hold the remote horizontally, if you want to use the D-pad.

While the demo was Tumiki Fighters on the Wii, Blast Works is going to have original levels. I spoke to a representative from Budcat and he explained Tumiki Fighters is an unlockable game within Blast Works. As the conversation continued he explained that Budcat is working on bringing more of Kenta Cho’s shmups into Blast Works as unlockables. rRootage is going to be included for sure. Gunroar and Torus Trooper are possible additions.

The ship builder is kind of neat too. By dragging blocks you can build your own Tumiki Fighter and pick out bullet patterns from shot down enemies. You can use a standard straight spray, a shotgun style burst and a round shot where you fire an exploding circle of bullets. Once you make a ship you can send it to other people through Nintendo Wi-Fi, a really neat idea.

Majesco has not decided a price yet, but they are considering the price around the $30-$40 range. It seems a little high considering the games are free on the PC, but hearing that rRootage is in the package ameliorates the cost a tad.
