Blaster Master Zero Adds Two New Modes

Blaster Master Zero Update 1.2 is now available for the Nintendo Switch and comes to the Nintendo 3DS on May 4, 2017. This update brings with it a Destroyer Mode, which is more difficult than usual, as well as an EX Character Mode that allows you to use DLC characters from different series in the game.

After downloading the update, people can access Destroyer Mode after beating Blaster Master Zero once. Jason and SOPHIA-III have a different color scheme and the game is much more difficult. Mutants are stronger and some require you to use a certain gun level to defeat them. When in the overworld areas and defeating enemies, you have to evade the fragments they’ll send out when defeated. The items you’ll find in areas and dropped by mid-bosses may also differ from the ones in the standard game.

The EX Character Mode allows you to go through Blaster Master Zero as different characters. So far two have been announced, Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt and Ekoro from Gal*Gun. Each one has their own unique weapons and abilities. Gunvolt has Prevasion and Flashfield abilities, while Ekoro uses Desert Angel guns and angelic abilities. Gunvolt will be available on May 4, 2017, while Ekoro debuts on June 1, 2017. Each one will be free downloads for the first two weeks after they launch. After the promotional period, their price will jump to $1.99 each.

Blaster Master Zero is available for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS. A demo version that goes through the Forest and Industrial Areas is available.
