Korean developer Blueside has had a long standing partnership with Microsoft. All of their Kingdom Under Fire games were published by Microsoft Game Studios internationally.
Kingdom Under Fire II, however, is also in development for PlayStation 3. Sony Computer Entertainment Korea announced the game during G-Star. This will be Blueside’s first game on a Sony console. The president of the company attributed the decision due to the PlayStation 3’s versatile network functionality.
Unlike Circle of Doom, this is a true successor to the Kingdom Under Fire series with large scale wars and a MMORPG mode, which Blueside hasn’t said much about. There’s still plenty of time for announcements since Kingdom Under Fire II is slated for Q1 2012 in Korea.
