Boogie moving multiplatform, heads to PS2 and DS

We mentioned the possibility of a Playstation 2 version of Boogie before and now it’s been announced. Boogie for the PS2 will be a port, but it will somehow include the dancing portion of the game. Electronic Arts has not announced how they plan to achieve this, but there are only two realistic solutions. Boogie for the PS2 will either have a motion controller added in or it’s going to resort to button pressing.

Later this year Electronic Arts also has Boogie planned for the Nintendo DS and it is notably different from the other versions. The graphics have been changed to sprites and you can experience the game in 3D by wearing the glasses bundled with the game. The DS version will also include download play and different dancing modes including copycat where you mimic a fellow alien.

Electronic Arts is clearly pushing Boogie as one of their cornerstone properties. At this rate we should hear about a Wii sequel after the holiday rush.
