The Abilink system lets you borrow a job level. Edea, for example, would be a level one White Mage, but if you pick someone on your friend list with a higher White Mage job level you can borrow their skill mastery to Edea and boost her job level to level 9.

Square Enix also shared new screenshots of three more job classes. Valkyrie shares a lot in common with the Dragoon job. This female-only class has the Jump ability, which lets her avoid enemy attacks while in the sky. Valkyries also have Crescent Moon and Super Jump, a more powerful version of Jump.
