Bravely Default HD Remaster Minigames Unlock D’s Journal Notes

Square Enix shared more details about Bravely Default HD Remaster, and among the new screenshots and confirmations of quality of life features are insights into the two minigames and their D’s Journal notes. These are called Luxencheer Rhythm Catch and Ringabel’s Panic Cruise, and there are two screenshots showing them off. Also, as the box art for the game confirmed, this is a game-key card physical copy that still requires you to download the JRPG.

Luxencheer Rhythm Catch, as the name describes, is a rhythm game. The initial screenshot for it shows Agnes performing, and she is singling Praline a la Mode’s “Love in the Crossfire.” It seems to show indicators that look like the sorts of lightsticks you’d see at idol shows. The screenshot also shows this is a hard version of the song being performed, and there seems to be a score threshold to hit to clear it.

Meanwhile, Ringabel’s Panic Cruise is a first-person perspective of flying through the sky in an airship. The screenshots shows a number of circles to fly through, with players at the help and able to touch controls. Edea is on the side offering commentary. Also, the song playing during this minigame is “The Grandship Soars the Open Skies.”

Here’s how the two screenshots for the minigame look. Square Enix noted the D’s Journal entries unlocked by playing them are entirely new and offer new insights and lore. (Notes in it also unlock via other methods as you play.)

All of this comes after some other confirmations and reveals. For example, we know it features the original voice acting. There will also be a skip feature to more quickly get through story segments.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. It also appeared on the Nintendo 3DS.
