Square Enix recently revealed a new project for Nintendo Switch, titled Octopath Traveler, and they’ve opened its official Facebook page with a message from producer Tomoya Asano.

Tomoya Asano, the man in charge of the Bravely games as its series producer started out as a member of Enix a couple years prior to the company’s merger with Square. Since then, he has worked on various titles such as Final Fantasy III and IV on Nintendo DS, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, and more.

When we got a first look at Project Octopath Traveler, I’m pretty sure Bravely came to most of our minds, and understandably so given its unique art direction of a refined retro style.

Here’s an introduction from Tomoya Asano on the Facebook page:

It’s my pleasure to finally announce our newest project, the fully original role-playing game Octopath Traveler!

While we can’t reveal any specific details quite yet (keep an eye out for promotional media in the near future), we’d like to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at the development process in the meantime.

A long road lies ahead of us, but we hope that you’ll come along for the journey!
