True to its name, Caffeine is an upcoming 3D platformer collect-a-thon about making coffee. Its three creators have released the first trailer to showcase the pastel-colored locations they’ve made for the game so far.
In Caffeine, you play as a barista called Steeper who is looking to make the perfect coffee, and doing that requires gathering the best ingredients.
And so off you go, venturing across a sky island to grab coffee beans from local plants, the purest sugar from inside mysterious caves, and the freshest water from nearby springs (and more). Once it’s all gathered, Steeper can put the ingredients into his backpack coffee machine and create that coveted coffee blend.
Of course, being a collect-a-thon, there’s more to Caffeine than pure exploration, as you’ll have to run errands for various characters – it’s never that easy – and beat platforming challenges. But exploration will be a big part of it as you discover hotels, gardens, temples, and meet the populace hanging out in small cities.
