Capcom is teaming up with Sony to integrate Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5, two of their anticipated titles into PlayStation Home. Both games will take advantage of in matchmaking in PlayStation Home so players can move from a swanky virtual lounge to a caged ring in Spain at a push of a button – sometime in the future. Street Fighter IV will not initially have in PlayStation Home matchmaking. Capcom and Sony will add this feature with a patch at a later date. Resident Evil 5, which comes out on March 5 in Japan, will have this feature right out of the box.

Where should you look for a Resident Evil 5 partner? The Resident Evil 5 lounge, of course! Japan’s PlayStation Home will add a lounge set in Africa with graphics from Resident Evil 5. Visitors will be able to participate in Resident Evil 5 events here and pick up virtual items.

Those won’t be the only Capcom themed virtual items either. Capcom plans to sell Guile, Chun-Li, Chris Redfield, and Sheva Alomar avatar outfits in PlayStation Home too. Fortunately, some virtual items will be free since both games support the Home Reward feature which unlocks items as players make their way through Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5. No word if Capcom USA is jumping in on this, but chances seem pretty good due to the Home Rewards support.
