Capcom will close the submission window for the Mega Man: Dual Override Robot Master Design Contest on January 2, 2026, at 2:59 AM ET. The company will then hold a public poll to determine popular designs from January 30 to February 6, 2026. The top 6 finalists will have their names appear in the game’s credits, but only one of the six designs will be the grand winner and apply to the actual boss in the game.

Not long after Capcom revealed the game at The Game Awards 2025, Rockman Unity provided a couple more details on the release of Mega Man: Dual Override. This game is intended to be the 12th mainline entry in the classic Mega Man series, and its release in 2027 will coincide with Mega Man‘s 40th anniversary, based on its first-ever game release on the NES in 1987.

Mega Man: Dual Override will be available worldwide for Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2027.
