In free kinetic visual novel Carpe Diem, main character Jung only had a single day to spend with the woman of his dreams, Ai, before she would be gone. In sequel Carpe Diem: Reboot, players will get a chance to hear the story of Ai and her own struggles.
In the interest of avoiding spoilers for the original game, the developer keeps very quiet about aspects of Ai’s character, only stating that this game will delve deeper into her life and the little time she has left. Because of these details, “Jung must face a long road of loss and self-discovery as he attempts to reclaim the few pieces left of himself.”
Carpe Diem: Reboot is expected to be much longer than the short Carpe Diem, taking three to five hours to receive one of the game’s three endings. It is currently raising Kickstarter funding for development while also running a Greenlight campaign, with an expected release late this year.
