Konami opened a special site dedicated to the Castlevania 40th anniversary that confirms we’ll see things like the distribution of a mobile version of a game for free and music. There’s a temporary giveaway of the NES title until October 24, 2026. Some music will be steaming, and an anniversary concert will be held in some cities worldwide.
In the case of the free copy of the original Castlevania game, that’s on the Apple App Store and Google Play now. It features virtual controllers on the screen, with a layout that resembles a GBA Micro. Konami described it as a “direct port.” It also noted there’s no always online requirement and claiming it involves access during and after the giveaway.

In terms of the Castlevania music and concert, there are fewer details there. In the one case, it involves the Music from Castlevania – Black & Red vinyl record compilation of the soundtrack. That is an upcoming, 46-record set with songs from the series that will launch in Q3 2026. That will start streaming on September 26, 2026. As for the performance, that will appear in Spring 2027. The official social media account confirmed London, Los Angeles, and Tokyo as three places where it will be held.
The original Castlevania game is free on Android and iOS mobile devices until October 24, 2026. The next entry in the series will be Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse for the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, which will launch on October 15, 2026.
