Celebrate Lunar New Year with an Ape Escape Red Pocket

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

On Lunar New Year parents traditionally present their kids with a red pocket, a lucky envelope with some money inside. Plenty of stores sell empty envelopes, but Sony is giving out free Panda Suit Saru pockets to people who purchase unannounced PlayStation products. I suppose Sony chose to put the Saru in a Panda suit because it’s indigenous to China and the costume is much cuter than a Saru wearing a rat pelt. On the other hand, the latter may be more appropriate.

Also between February 1st and February 31st anyone who buys a PlayStation 3 in Asia gets a limited edition PlayStation umbrella. New PSP owners pick up a PSP holder during the same promotional period. While an umbrella doesn’t sound lavish considering the price of the PS3, it’s better than nothing. If by some odd chance it’s a Panda Suit Saru umbrella I’ll be scouring eBay for one.
