Rick the Fox is out to stop the evil force that is creating tree mutants and trying to create a deadly fifth season in Fox N Forests, and will use his crossbow and season-changing ability to do so.
Each stage of Fox N Forests will offer two seasons that players can temporarily switch between. This affects the weather, environment, and enemies in various ways, such as freezing a previously-unpassable lake so players can cross. Not all of the uses are good, as clearing fog from a graveyard can make more enemies appear, but changing seasons often clears a path or opens up a route to secrets.
Secrets will let players collect items to improve Rick’s health and the crossbow he uses against his enemies. He can use it as a melee weapon or at range, and hidden items throughout the game’s world will make it hit harder against the mutant trees and monsters that are after him.
Fox N Forests is currently running Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaigns, and is expected to release in September 2017.
