Following the Summer Game Fest 2024, Double Fine and iam8bit delivered this year’s edition of the Day of the Devs stream focusing on indie titles. Most of the games shown during the event will release between 2024 and 2025, and the release date for some of them are yet unconfirmed.
Among the 20 different titles shown there were many different genres, ranging from horror, platforming, narrative adventures, and puzzle games. Some examples include Zoochosis, a horror game in which players jump in the role of a zookeeper in a zoo where the animals don’t seem to be all that okay, in a game that borrows from classic horror tropes. Psychroma is a cyberpunk horror adventure in which players explore themes of identity and memory in a dystopian future and a digital memory realm.
From the creators of Coffee Talk and What Comes After comes Afterlove EP, an adventure game that combines rhythm elements to explore the city of Jakarta, as well as themes of grief and love. Screenbound is a game in which players have to navigate a 3D environment to solve puzzles as they also play a 2D side-scrolling adventure that reads the inputs of the 3D world, and defeat enemies and obstacles in the 2D world.
