Chrono Cross Remaster Promoted With Character Art

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition releases this week, and Square Enix opted to promote the upcoming remaster with some artwork of its characters. The large-format crowd piece was created by Chrono Cross character designer Nobuteru Yuuki. Yuuki also acted as character designer for the original Trials of Mana, Solatorobo, and anime series like Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Escaflowne.

The art, which shows many characters from the Chrono Cross remaster’s main cast, is also the cover of the April 7, 2022 issue of Famitsu magazine’s print edition. The official Twitter account shared a 4K-resolution version for people to download.

The shot itself features Serge, Leena, Korcha, Mojo, Guile, Lynx, Viper, Harle, Riddel, Marcy, Pip, Janice, NeoFio, Draggy, Starky, Kid, Poshul, Mel, Razzly, Leah, and Van. It’s not the whole roster, though, as Chrono Cross has forty-five playable characters.

The Chrono Cross remaster upgrades the game’s graphics and adds various features. These include updates to the PS1-era 3D models, higher-resolution character illustrations, higher-quality background music, and HD fonts for onscreen text. Players can toggle the visual options on and off based on their preferences. The game will also include the original Radical Dreamers – Le Trésor Interdit – visual novel, which formed the basis of the Chrono Cross story. This will be the first time it has been released outside Japan.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition releases on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 7, 2022.
