Disaster Report creator and director of City Shrouded in Shadow Kazuma Kujo along with producer Kensuke Tsukanaka shared some tidbits about the game in TGS 2017 interview with IGN Japan.
Here are some highlights from the interview:
On how development for the game was decided
Kensuke Tsukanaka, Producer: “Before the establishment of Granzella, we talked about concept plans on something we could do together. At first we had something with a journalist who was tasked with taking photos of a town where a disaster took place.
On plans for DLC
Tsukanaka: “We don’t have plans for any DLC at this moment.
On any thoughts of making City Shrouded in Shadow into a series
Tsukanaka: “We’re thinking about all kinds of future developments, but since we just finished up the game, we didn’t have time to think about future plans while in the midst of development.
On how long the game’s development ended up taking
Tsukanaka: “If you go back to the plans then it goes a while back, but the actual development took about three years.
Kazuma Kujo, Director: “At first I thought it’d be okay to make something in line with Disaster Report, but I struggled after realizing the contrary to my expectations.
On the reason it went from PS4 and PS Vita to just PS4
Tsukanaka: “The reason for the change of hardware wasn’t a matter of specs, but because we wanted to focus on improving the quality of the PS4 version.”
City Shrouded in Shadow releases in Japan on October 19, 2017 for PlayStation 4.
