We will get a reason to return to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soon, as a free update patch will add more bosses and costumes to the RPG. After announcing it passed five million copies in sales, Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive also said there will be a free update eventually released for the game. It will appear on every platform. There’s no release window for it yet, however.

The access the new features, all someone will need to do is update Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to the upcoming patch. Then, they’ll need to play through the game. It seems some of the additions will be available ahead of the end, while others will be late or post-game extras. Sandfall confirmed the character costumes will appear “throughout their adventure,” suggesting those are the items that could appear fairly early. However, the new boss fights are specifically described as a “late-game” addition. The new location might also be where those are and only be available later on.

The other additions in that patch will be about support and accessibility. Sndfall announced it will add seven more playable languages. More localizations are in development. So after the update, someone could switch to a new language and play with those subtitles and UI text.

Here is the list of the localizations that will appear after the patch.

  • Czech
  • Indonesian
  • Latin American Spanish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Ukrainian
  • Vietnamese

12 options are available now, with English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish among them.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the free update patch with more bosses and costumes is in development. Past patches focused on additional features, fixes, and quality of life adjustments.
