A new generation of gamers can learn the joy of whipping grayscale eyeballs because Castlevania: The Adventure is now available as a Virtual Console download for Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
The four stage game follows one of Simon Belmont’s ancestors who only has an upgradable whip. Collect power ups and you can wield a flame whip until one of Dracula’s minions touches you which saps health and weakens your whip. M2 remade the game for Wii three years ago and their version has added sub-weapons and color.
If you have a 3DS from Japan you can play the original for just 400 yen ($5). Since Konami released Castlevania: The Adventure and the remake in the West, the Game Boy game should show up on Virtual Console here too.
