Combo Crew Is Like Final Fight With No D-Pad And A Squid

Recommended Videos

Since we’re talking about beat ’em ups from indie developers, we should mention Combo Crew too. It’s a Final Fight style game, but ditches the virtual d-pad that many mobile phone games use. Players swipe the screen to punch and kick. Special attacks are done with a two finger swipe and you can counterattack by tapping the screen. Another neat feature in the vein of Shiren the Wanderer is you can rescue a friend when he gets knocked out.

Combo Crew gives a nod to Capcom too. Did you notice "Chun Li kicks" pops up underneath the score bar when Gina attacks? The headspinning squid is from their other video game series, Squids.

Combo Crew is slated for release this spring on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
