Blaze Entertainment, a company known for its Evercade handhelds and Super Pocket systems, announced new handheld gaming devices based on the Commodore 64 and Spectrum computers called THEC64 and The Spectrum. Each of these devices will be a handheld with a DS and 3DS-style clamshell design that allows you to fold them shut when not in use, and both has 25 games. They will cost $129.99/£109.99/€129.99 for the standard edition and $149.99/£129.99/€149.99 each for collector’s editions that include a case and either Crash or Zzap!64 magazine copies, and they launch in October 2026.
Each system has a 4.3 IPS screen with 800×480 resolution. You can use the built-in controls, or attach a keyboard and joystick to the back of each unit. A microSD slot is available in each system, which allows a person to add to the library by putting their own games on it.
