Control Free Upgrade

Free Control Upgrades Only Available With Ultimate Editions

505 Games will let consumers upgrade their copy of Control for free to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, but there’s a certain stipulation. Consumers will need to purchase the Control Ultimate Edition for $39.99 in order to be eligible for the free upgrade. This means that those that have only purchased the standard version of Control will not be able to upgrade it for next generation consoles. Control Ultimate Edition is scheduled to release on Steam on August 27, 2020. The Epic Games Store and consoles will see it release on September 10, 2020.

The 505 Games official blog post about Control Ultimate Edition also noted that they will not be able to ship digital and physical editions at the same time, due to the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. It mentioned that eligibility for the free upgrade that will accompany the release of Control’s Ultimate Edition will be elaborated on through the game’s official website and community channels.

Control Ultimate Edition will available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Control Ultimate Edition will launch on the Steam storefront on August 27, 2020, then eventually all other platforms and storefronts on September 10, 2020.
