505 Games will let consumers upgrade their copy of Control for free to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, but there’s a certain stipulation. Consumers will need to purchase the Control Ultimate Edition for $39.99 in order to be eligible for the free upgrade. This means that those that have only purchased the standard version of Control will not be able to upgrade it for next generation consoles. Control Ultimate Edition is scheduled to release on Steam on August 27, 2020. The Epic Games Store and consoles will see it release on September 10, 2020.
The Control Ultimate Edition will come with the base game and The Foundation and AWE expansions. The official 505 Games Twitter account mentioned that “it will also come with The Expeditions end game mode, Photo Mode and all content updates since the release of the original game.”
