The Criminal Girls X Campfire crowdfunding campaign has ended and proven itself quite a success. The game initially met its ¥6,000,000 (~%55,395) goal within its first 24 hours. On June 30, 2019, it ended having raised over ¥15,767,532 (~$145,585).

In Criminal Girls X, players follow a protagonist who has been transformed into a cat after praying to hold his deceased fiancé in his arms again after she died and is on the verge of being sent to hell. The goal is to fight back in the name of redemption, as he is now an amnesiac attempting to save 24 women in the same situation as his fiancé within one year.

Currently, only five of the heroines appearing in the game have been revealed. They are, from left to right in the official image above, Wakana, Misora, Nana, Yuiko, and Usagi.

In case you missed it, one of the last trailers released during the Criminal Girls X crowdfunding endeavor was one showing off its VR compatibility. The almost two minute long video shows off its gameplay as Nana, one of the “criminal girls,” races forward on a motorcycle and fights off enemies.

Criminal Girls X is in development for the PC and both Android and Apple iOS devices. The current Japanese launch window for the free-to-play version is February 2020, while the full paid version has a May 2020 release window. Information on an English release will arrive in September 2019.
