The project was first announced in July 2017 but due to uncertainties on the “demand for a cross-dressing game” it was put on pause. A couple of years, Twitter polls, and events later, Nippon Ichi Software officially greenlit the title.

The protagonist is a high school boy named Minato Igusa, who uses the name “Erika Igusa” when cross-dressing. Minato must cross-dress and infiltrate Yuriai Academy in order to learn more about an incident involving his older sister. However, cuteness rules all in this academy. Erika must become cuter than the “Princesses” in order to uncover the truth in the cross-dressing adventure.

Bokuhime Project releases for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on April 23, 2020.
