We do have some general idea of what the movie will cover. Prior announcements already confirmed it is part of the same continuity as the anime adaptation. Someone who watched that will then see everything pick up with Kobayashi, Tohru, Kanna, and Iruru living together as a family. Kanna’s father wants to take her away. So a big part of the themes will involve the definitions of families and cooperation between everyone who’s come together so far as a result of Kobayashi and Tohru meeting in order to help bring balance between the Chaos and Order factions of dragons.
