Kadokawa has revealed that it will hold a new Danganronpa orchestra concert to mark the 15th anniversary of Spike Chunsoft’s popular game franchise. The concert will take place in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, in August 2026. It will also have the Japanese subtitle “Kibou to Zetsubou no Shirabe,” which could be roughly translated to “Melodies of Hope and Despair.”

The concert’s official site also includes details on the performers. The Heartbeat Symphony group will perform orchestral renditions of Danganronpa tracks, with Kento Takeuchi as the conductor. Megumi Ogata, the voice actress behind Makoto Naegi and Nagito Komaeda, will also appear to perform on stage. The original series composer, Masafumi Takada, will attend the concert as well. The event will also have voice-only announcements by Hiro Shimono and Kana Hanazawa, the respective voice actors of Kokichi Oma and Chiaki Nanami.

Kadokawa has also provided a sneak peek of the concert’s setlist, with the following five songs confirmed to be part of the list:

  • “DANGANRONPA” from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
  • “Welcome DANGAN IsLand!!” from Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
  • “Wonderful dead001” from Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls
  • “Beautiful Lie” from Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
  • “Saisei-rebuild-” – Danganronpa ending theme with live vocals by Megumi Ogata

Lottery applications for the concert’s tickets are immediately available on Lawson Ticket until May 24, 2026. The tickets range from ¥7,600 (~$48.40) for a Regular Ticket, ¥11,200 (~$71.30) for one with a bonus 24-page pamphlet, and ¥15,000 (~$95.50) for the Ultimate Special Ticket that also adds a T-shirt and a replica ticket.

Pre-school children will not be able to attend this concert. Students aged between 6 and 18, however, can apply for free tickets via Eplus. They can apply for either up to 4 students with free tickets, or up to 3 students with a guardian aged 19 or more, the latter of whom can pay for a regular ticket at half price.

The Danganronpa 15th Anniversary Orchestra Concert “Melodies of Hope and Despair” will take place at Line Cube Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 5:30 PM JST.
