Spike Chunsoft revealed the new release date for Danganronpa 2×2 as January 14, 2027. A new trailer for the game appeared during the September 2027 Nintendo Direct showcasing some of the new mechanics of the remake.
Alongside revamped visuals, Danganronpa 2×2 includes both an Original story mode and the new Slayhem scenario, which features new victims and culprits in an alternate story. In addition, a new mysterious character will appear in this new Slayhem mode. Both scenarios will be available from the start.
While the original mode will only include the new graphical updates, Slayhem will also include mechanics such as Split Opinion, which was originally introduced in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, or the new Akimbo Consensus.

Back in July 2026 and during Anime Expo 2026, Spike Chunsoft announced a delay for Danganronpa 2×2 from its original 2026 launch to early 2027, which this new date lines up with.
The new Danganronpa 2×2 release date is January 14, 2027. The game will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The original game appeared on the PSP in Japan, then the Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices worldwide.
