Team Ninja are using a new engine, called the “Soft Engine” for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, which was made to depict skin to look softer than ever. The latest video shows a comparison between PS3 and PS4 versions.
The left part of the video shows what the Soft Engine looks like on the PlayStation 4, while the right side is a look at the game in its normal mode on PlayStation 3, which wasn’t made with the Soft Engine. You can probably see the difference for yourself.
Additionally, Koei Tecmo shared more details for DLCs and limited edition bonuses.
When Dead or Alive 5: Last Round releases in Japan, they’ll also launch a Core Fighters version of the game, where you’ll get to play all the modes except Story Mode. By purchasing the full game after trying out the Core Fighters, players will get full access to all the characters and story mode.
The free version will include online fights, where players will get to go against those who’ve purchased the full version of the game. However, the free version will only give you access to four characters of Kasumi, Ayane, Ryu Hayabusa, and Hayate. Xbox One will get a Dead or Alive 5: Last Round demo with the four characters, but they will not be able to upgrade the demo into the full game. Koei Tecmo will sell Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters with four extra characters Hitomi, Jann Lee, Bass, and Tina for a price that hasn’t been set yet.
Additionally, those with Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will get to purchase the “Last Round Pack” to upgrade their version to Last Round, so they can keep everything from the previous game, including all DLCs and records.
First-print copies of the game, along with first-downloads, will include “First-time Sexy Costume” set for the four characters of Honoka, Marie Rose, Nyotengu, and Phase 4.
Also included are the “Ninja 2015 Costume” set for Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate, and Ryu Hayabusa.
Finally, here’s a look at the “Soft Sexy Costume” set, which will be included in the Ultimate Pack edition of the game. There will be a total of 18 costumes in this set, along with an original soundtrack CD, history book, Marie Rose 3D mouse pad, a tapestry, four mini-figures, and eight B2-size bath posters.
