Your sister robots have been reprogrammed to fight you, but by copying their abilities as you defeat them, Mega Man-style, you can find the evil General Creeper and make him pay for doing this to them in Metagal.
The developers were heavily inspired by Mega Man for Metagal’s sidescrolling 2D action. On top of blasting robots, heroine Metagal will gain powers from defeating her sister robots, able to use them to increase her own arsenal. There will be other hidden power-ups in the game’s stages as well.
The game will have eight stages when it releases in 2nd quarter this year. Should players be having difficulty getting through those levels, the developers promise a ‘Gear’ system, which “allows player to resolve their mistakes with less frustration.” The developer does not say what this entails.
Metagal is raising Greenlight votes for a Steam release, and is also projected to release on iOS and Android at some time.
