Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan PS5 and Xbox One Versions Announced

Demon Slayer Hinokami Kepputan

PS5, Xbox One, and PC owners won’t have to give up their Breathing Exercises to play Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan. The CyberConnect2-developed demon-slaying action game will be available on their platform of choice, in addition to the originally announced PS4 version. The news comes as Aniplex prepares to drop more information on the game in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. Unfortunately for marketing schedules, Jump is a leaky publication, and the information snuck out early [Thanks, Ryokuta2089].

Since the PS5 would Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan presumably be able to play the PS4 version without issue, thanks to backwards compatibility, it’s implied that a dedicated PS5 edition might include enhancements to graphics or additional features to take advantage of the new consoles’ additional power. Similar upgrades have been added to a variety of games out now, such as Sega’s Judgment. Interestingly, there was no word in the leaks about a port for the Xbox Series X, so it’s also possible that whatever enhancements are planned for the PS5 edition might be limited to that platform.

Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan is based on the manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Its story will follow Tanjiro Kamado, a young man whose family is slaughtered by rampaging demons. He takes up the path of the Demon Slayer to take revenge for his family and prevent Nezuko, his surviving sister, from being fully turned into a demon herself. The game will have its own story mode and allow players to experience the story of the manga and anime through CyberConnect2’s characteristic flair for depicting anime scenes using 3D graphics. Outside of the story mode, players can also work together in a “tag battle” mode that functions as a multiplayer system.
