The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash protagonist Rean Schwarzer will start out the second game on his own, until he meets Tovar during his solo journey, but it looks like he’ll have other help – powerful mecha-like partners according to this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
In addition to Tovar, Claire, and Altina are playable character too. Famitsu reports that Rean Schwarzer’s sister Elise will also be a playable character and she’ll be using a rapier as her weapon of choice.
Rean will also have a special Craft that allows him to summon a “Cavalry God” for a cost of 200 CP. This feature can only be used once per battle, and will provide your party with an offensive prowess of a mecha-soldier partner.
The Cavalry God can use commands such as attack, defend, and Craft. Once summoned, you’ll be able to select a party member as a “partner” for it. During the partner’s turn, you’ll get additional options of “Charge,” “Spirit,” and “EX Arts”.
The partner characters can also be switched out during the current partner’s turn, which might come in handy for strategic purposes in the midst of combat.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash II will be released on September 25, 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Meanwhile, you can read up on the game’s other newly playable character, here.
