One series I’m always glad to see return is Sony’s anti gravity racing game WipEout. WipEout Pure was one of the games that made you want to buy a PSP at launch and WipEout Pulse ups the ante with one major feature wireless play in infrastructure mode. Finally players can race online anywhere around the world. There are 24 tracks built in WipeOut Pulse and they are designed with new "mag strips" that allow loops, vertical drops and 90 degree turns. More tracks, music, ships and circuits can be downloaded post launch through download packs. Another neat feature is you can stop and take snapshots of your ship and upload it for others to see. Also it looks like WipEout Pulse might be toying with a new PSP feature, using MP3s saved on the memory stick as background music since the release says, “There is even the possibility to play your own mp3 files direct from your memory stick!” If WipEout Pulse pulls this off hopefully other games will take advantage of custom soundtracks too.
