Detective Pikachu Movie Will Be Released Digitally First In July, Then Get Physical Copies In August

The Detective Pikachu movie has received release dates for its home versions. The film first appeared in theaters on May 10, 2019. The rest of its releases are a little more staggered. The official Twitter account noted that it will appear digitally first on July 23, 2019. Then, on August 6, 2019, DVDs and Blu-rays will be released.

The official website noted that Detective Pikachu digital copies will be available through Fandango Now, Google, iTunes, Microsoft, Movies Anywhere, and Vudu. It will be $19.99 for an HD copy.

 

There will be a few more options, when it comes to physical copies. A DVD alone will be $19.99. A Blu-ray version with digital copy and DVD will be $29.99. However, Best Buy will have a $34.99 Blu-ray version in a Steelbook case. The physical copies will have deleted scenes, Mr. Mime audio commentary, My Pokemon Adventure, five Creating the World of Detective Pikachu shorts, the Ryan Reynolds Outside the Actors Studio clip, the Rita Ora and Kygo music video, and a Detective Mode.

 

The Detective Pikachu Nintendo 3DS game is immediately available. A sequel is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
