A Devil May Cry 5 mod that added multiplayer into the PC version of the game has some new features. Listed as Divergence Mode, this mod adds playable co-op missions and the option to play through the Bloody Palace with up to three players. In its most recent update, Vergil joins V, Dante, or Nero as a possible co-op partner. While Twitter user TheHitchhiker says that the mod isn’t perfect, it is useable. Users can download this mod through NexusMods. [Thanks, TheHitchhiker!]
If you are interested in giving this mod a whirl, you will need to make a NexusMods account to access the download. The page for the mod itself lists the specifications that users will need to access multiplayer missions in Devil May Cry 5. This includes how to allow for Vergil to access co-op mission (with the exclusion of Mission 7 and Mission 13) and a list of currently known issues.
A multiplayer system was announced for Devil May Cry 5, however it wasn’t implemented in a traditional sense. While playing through the game, players would meet up with “shadow” versions of other players that would temporarily guest in their game. These players would be controlled by an A.I. that would attempt to imitate their playstyle. This mod by Dante and Raz0r has added in a more traditional style of multiplayer.
Devil May Cry 5 is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
