Sega sent out a list of what they’re bringing to E3 and release targets for their entire line up. Bayonetta is slated for “late 2009”. At a previous Sega press conference the game was slated for “fall 2009”.
The two dates could overlap if “late 2009” means November, which is still technically “fall 2009”. However, Planet 51, which is based on an upcoming movie says “fall 2009” while Bayonetta does not. Sony Europe still believes Bayonetta will be in stores in October.
Sega might be too busy with other games to release Bayonetta in October. Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics and Alpha Protocol, a spy-RPG for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are scheduled for release then.
Alien vs. Predator, The Conduit, and Vancouver 2010 will also be at Sega’s booth. RPGs such as Sands of Destruction, Infinite Space, and Phantasy Star Zero which is slated for a fall release were not mentioned in the bulletin even though these three titles are confirmed for North America.
