Bandai Namco announced Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters Cyber Arena is releasing in Japan on September 21, 2016 as a digital free-to-play title for 3DS that will serve as a demo for the retail version.
The free-to-play version of Appli Monsters Cyber Arena will let you play the opening stages of the retail version’s story.
Unlike most 3DS demos, this one won’t have a limit to how many times you can play. It’ll feature competitive play with friends, and a chance to get various items by playing everyday. Additionally, you can carry over data to the retail version of the game, so this will make it possible to create a powerful deck until the game releases. The free-to-play version also allows for Appmon Chip functions.
The above is a look at the male and female protagonists. They’re second-year middle school students at Hifumigaoka Middle, and can be a little hot-blooded. Their buddy Appmon is based off online game apps, named Onmon. Using an Appli Drive, you’ll encounter various Appmon, fight, and grow together as part of the game’s magnificent story.
As for the rival, he’s your childhood friend named Naoto. You guys got along as kids, but he has distanced himself recently. His buddy Appmon is based on offline game apps, and is called “Offmon.”
