Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed Remake Arriving on Switch

The Wii game Epic Mickey will return, this time with a Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed Switch remake. THQ Nordic will release it sometime in 2024. Update: THQ Nordic confirmed it will also come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in its dedicated trailer.

The initial trailer appeared at the 4:57 mark of the February 2024 Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. The trailer doesn’t show too much about the remake. We get to see the updated cinematics when Mickey uses Yen Sid’s magic paintbrush and causes trouble for the Wasteland area. Because of his meddling, he then needs to head into the Wasteland to areas inspired by places at Disney World and Disney Land to fix what went wrong. Both Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who also appears prominently in the sequel, and the inky Shadow Blot Mickey helped create face him every step of the way.

You can see the Disney Epic Mickey remake at about the five minute mark in the showcase below:

The announcement didn’t go over how the Wii-exclusive controls and features will work with the remake. However, as a reminder, people would use paint and thinner to alter the environment and progress.

Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2024. The original game is available on the Wii.
