Stranger of Paradise Crossplay

Does Final Fantasy: Stranger of Paradise Have Crossplay?

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now available on the PC through Steam. While initially available through the Epic Games Store, this reimagining of the first Final Fantasy game is now available on another digital storefront. However, while crossplay was not available for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin across consoles, it seems that it very well may be the same case for PC players’ platforms.

Koei Tecmo’s PC release of Nioh 2 allowed for Steam players to opt into playing with players who had purchased the game through the Epic Games Store. However, a prompt asking if players would like to access this type of crossplay in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin does not appear when booting up the game. Additionally, going to the “Online Settings” option shows that there are only three toggles for players. These include area matchmaking, chat customization, and if character voices will be on for using voiced chat lines.

As it stands, there is currently no crossplay for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. This goes between consoles and PCs. The specifics entail that only PlayStation players can play with PlayStation players, with the same applying to those playing on an Xbox platform. And for PC players? It seems like only Steam users can play with Steam users, and those who purchased the game from the Epic Games Store can only play with others that have bought the game on that platform.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via both Epic Games Store and Steam.
