Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PC and mobile devices now. It’s also heading to the PS4 and PS5 soon. However, some possible players may be wondering if you have to wait. Could you start now and then continue on when it’s on the platform you prefer? Well, the good news is yes, there is Honkai: Star Rail cross-save support, and you could even consider it crossplay across platforms as well.
Like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail offers cross-save support as long as you log into your HoYoVerse account. So if you start on your PC, you could carry over on a tablet or even eventually on the PS5. However, while it is as simple as logging into an account on the PC and mobile devices, the PlayStation account linking could require some extra steps. If we look to Genshin Impact as an example, you need to tie your account to your PSN ID.
As for the Honkai: Star Rail crossplay, that involves what server your account is on. There’s no true multiplayer in the game. However, you can set one of your characters as a person who can act as a “support” for others. So because I’m on the server serving people in North America, I could add people as “friends” regardless of their platform. Then, when I enter a battle that lets me select a friend’s character as a support, I could use one of theirs.
Honkai: Star Rail is available for PCs and mobile devices, and PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
