Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP Coming West As River City: Rival Showdown

Natsume has picked up another entry in the Kunio-kun series. Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP is going to be released in both North America and Europe as River City: Rival Showdown. It is an enhanced remake of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari, which people may know better as River City Ransom. Players follow Kunio over a three-day period as he fights enemies, explores the city, and rights wrongs.

River City: Rival Showdown as made in honor of the series’ 30th anniversary. It has received a visual upgrade, there are new special attacks and combos, characters earn experience as they fight, you can collect equipment, there are new events and locations, and local cooperative multiplayer is included. There is also a fighting game that was known as Fighting of Double Dragon –2016- in the Japanese release built into it, with 14 playable characters available.

 

 

Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP launched on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on October 27, 2016. River City: Rival Showdown will be playable at Natsume’s booth at E3 2017.
