While the characters briefly appeared in the game’s initial trailer, it was unknown if they would be fully playable or appear as supporting characters. Now that they have been confirmed, there is a good chance that other characters briefly visibile in the trailer may also appear, including Mr. Satan, Cell, and Android 18. This is in addition to Goku, Vegeta, Broly, and Frieza, who featured more heavily in the trailer itself. There is no word yet on what the characters’ playstyles or abilities will be like in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

You can see how the characters will look in-game via the tweet below, as we got a chance to see a screenshot of each of them:

Back in October a Fall, 2024 release window was announced for upcoming anime series Dragon Ball Daima, which will see early Dragon Ball stories reimagined with the cast as children. The actress behind several Dragon Ball characters including Goku, Masako Nozawa, also received the Kikuchi Kan prize for her performances and contribution to the arts.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
