When Siliconera previously spoke with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 producer Masayuki Hirano at E3, he noted there was a possibility of Dragon Ball Super content being added to the game. In a recent Gamescom interview by Crunchyroll, Hirano provides an update on the inclusion of Super characters and discusses why classic Dragon Ball characters are a challenge to add.
“I really like the classic series, but you have to understand that it is difficult to implement these characters in the game. For example, Goku can’t even fly. So we’d have to build a new system to put these characters into the game and make it a fair fight with the other characters,” Hirano explains.
However, even with the challenges, Hirano says they will be reaching out to fans regarding additions to the roster. “We want to consider it depending on how many requests we receive. We are actually creating a website where players will be able to share their feedback and thoughts about the game.”
The development team has already been listening to core player feedback to improve the fighting system in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The complete interview can be seen in the video below.
