Following the big release date announcement event for Dragon Quest Builders 2, Square Enix shared more details on the block-make RPG with another look at its setting of Empty Island and a couple residents the latest issue of Jump.
The protagonist drafts ashore a place called “Empty Island” at the beginning of the game. There’s not much here at first, but it’ll be up to you to start its civilization that begins with simple buildings and item-crafting.
You’ll start out by finding ways to get food, such as shellfish to cook at the fireplace while exploring the ruins. From here you’ll work through various building challenges as you aim to become a Master Builder.
Over time you’ll meet new characters like the big-time adventurer Lulu who is the daughter of a first-class Builder and took notice to the apprentice Builder, the protagonist. She was actually one of the few that drifted ashore Empty Island with the protagonist.
Another resident is the Captain. He has a little ship that he can use to take you to nearby islands.
