Dragon Quest IX’s Pokémon Cameo

Nintendo published Dragon Quest IX in the West and a wild Pokémon is in the English version of the game. Watch out for the sword bearing Wooper Trooper!

This blue monster was also in the Japanese version of the game too under than name “Upa Soldier” or “Wooper Soldier”. Aside from an aquatic Pokémon, Upa is also used to refer to mudpuppies, the salamander species.
