This week’s issue of Jump magazine shares the latest details on Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 with info on the new “Great Riders Cup” feature that will pit you up against friends for some nice rewards. [Thanks, @Kazu4281.]
The “Great Riders Cup” is a new feature that uses the game’s “Ride System” and will have four players compete with each other while riding on monsters. In addition to playing against the AI, you’ll also get to connect with other players via local and Wi-Fi connectivity.
In this mode, you score points by capturing Slimes on the field and taking them to the goal. The player with the most points wins the game. Again, there’s a ranking system with splendid rewards for those with higher ranks.
Monster types have different acceleration, top speed, and horsepower. They’ll also have two of their own attacks. There’s a tension meter that builds up over time that will let you dash, and there are items such as shields for defending yourself from attacks and bombs.
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 will release in Japan on March 24, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
