When it comes to releasing things for people to enjoy at home during the pandemic, Square Enix has been doing its best. Between an English Stay Home and Play Campaign and the “Chocobo Theme” Home de Chocobo musical endeavor, there’s quite a bit to do. Now, the company is expanding its Dragon Quest outreach efforts in Japan to encourage people to stay home with Dragon Quest origami and color-by-numbers activities.
Ryota Aomi, the Dragon Quest series producer, shared the latest update on his official Twitter account. He alerted people to the Dragon Quest origami Slime instructions’ release. These are actually based on Dragon Quest Builders 2 Japanese Square Enix e-Store bonus, and his sample image showed them alongside the papercraft Hammerhood and Mimic that were a part of the original set.
You can see the Dragon Quest origami slime instructions below. Visiting the official site will provide access to a PDF that can be downloaded to give you special paper you could use with actual slime faces on them.
In addition to the origami, three pixelated color-by-number activity sheets are available at the site. Three levels of difficulty are available. The easiest level lets you color three characters, with between three and six colors used. (While the sheets are in Japanese, the numbers are color-coded so you would know the first three colors for the first character are blue, white, and pink.) The intermediate difficulty sheets have two characters with seven and four colors used. The hardest design tasks people with using nine colors to fill in one monster.
