Dragon Quest Veteran Jin Fujisawa Announces His Departure From Square Enix

Square Enix developer Jin Fujisawa, who has a long history of work on the Dragon Quest series dating back to Dragon Quest VII with Enix in 2000, has announced his departure from the company.   Fujisawa-san made the announcement on Twitter stating that he has left Square Enix.

Lastly, I have a personal announcement to share. “I, Fujisawa, have resigned from Square Enix. After resigning, I did continue writing for Fortune Tellers Academy, but currently I’m tackling a new challenge with a different company. I think I’ll be able to share more about the present condition on a separate occasion. I truly apologize for the sudden announcement.”   Jin Fujisawa worked as a Scenario Assistant for Dragon Quest VII (PS1), Dragon Quest IV (PS1), Dragon Quest V (PS2). He took on the role of Scenario Staff in Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) and Battle Director for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker (Nintendo DS). His biggest role was director of Dragon Quest IX (Nintendo DS). He also worked as a director and scenario writer for Dragon Quest X (Wii). Since then he’s worked on several mobile games including Mugen Knights, Fortune Tellers Academy, and Pro Yakyuu ga Suki da! 2017.
